A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to inactive email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends an email message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss emails because the other side has an outdated address or has made a typo. The disadvantage of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving plenty of unsolicited email messages, but this issue can be solved using anti-spam protection software. It’s also essential to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all feature cannot forward incoming email messages to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Website Hosting

In case you have a shared website hosting with our company and you want to enable the catch-all functionality for a certain e-mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it will take literally only one single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have created under any domain name registered in the account. You can choose one address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature momentarily, so all emails sent to mistyped addresses will be delivered there. Clicking on the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. In case you have active email forwarding, our system will exhibit a warning message and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply choose some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
